Fun Escape 03:58
feel the coolness, it spreads as the sun sets leaving worries behind, it's cast away see the road as it stretches so far ahead find new friends as a journey begins because there's no more stress and no more mess for a fun escape (don't have to worry now) smiling up at the sky it feels so great and so relax, no need to be tense vacation's under way (let's find the light within) life's a dream when you have a fun escape oh the doldrums of living's so hard sometimes keeping schedules and chores piling on brighten up when you see an opportunity throw aside what you're told for what you need because there's no more stress and no more mess for a fun escape (don't have to worry now) smiling up at the sky it feels so great and so relax, no need to be tense vacation's under way (let's find the light within) life's a dream when you have a fun escape

Next Stop 03:40
next stop, drudgery all of this week, right down this street next stop, following sadness repeats, seeking reprieve same route, same routine riders I greet, flashing my teeth big smile, hides the gloom inside of me oh the mindless toils of living day to day like an endless coil, going round and round Work and work, but you're back at the beginning to and fro, like it matters much at all when we grind, it is such a fruitless effort loop and loop, like a hamster in a cage oh this route is the same one i've been hitting years ago, when I started on this path deviations strictly are forbidden a simple maze, I know I'm just a rat at dawn, set out straight and take a right at dusk, head on home done for the night

Mad World 03:36
All around me are familiar faces Worn out places, Worn out faces Bright and early for their daily races Going nowhere, Going nowhere Their tears are filling up their glasses No expression, No expression Hide my head I wanna drown my sorrow No tomorrow, No tomorrow And I find it kind of funny I find it kind of sad The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had I find it hard to tell you I find it hard to take When people run in circles it's a very very Mad world Mad world Mad world Mad world Children waiting for the day they feel good Happy birthday, Happy birthday And to feel the way that every child should Sit and listen, Sit and listen Went to school and I was very nervous No one knew me, No one knew me Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson Look right through me, Looked right through me And I find it kind of funny I find it kind of sad The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had I find it hard to tell you 'Cos I find it hard to take When people run in circles it's a very very Mad world Mad world Mad world Mad world gotta break out from this cycle monotony of life it's more that i can bear when all the days they look alike it's difficult expressing what's going through my mind when living loses purpose it's a very very Mad world Mad world Mad world Mad world

mile after mile I find things that excite there comes my smile filled with genuine delight so many years worth of anguish extinguished tonight it feels so right, it's okay no one to ticket to, on endless commutes nothing but endless field, serene, absolute I can't believe it took this long to realize the truth it feels so new, it's okay I could roll on toward this horizon forever where the sunlight shoots from the ground perfect moments such as these won't last forever have to cherish this while it lasts day after day, wonders meeting my eye people and spaces I'd never surmise that I would meet such adventure by finding my light it feels so right, it's okay

I could go all around the world today if my bus had wings, i'd fly away no second thoughts, i'd travel the earth in a day the outer reaches of the east, let's say check out eurasia and napal, bombay the endless hills, and mountains, i'm on my-y way yes i'd go eastward, and westward, and southbound and north visit venice and london, and hong kong and more go to places i never had heard of before just a simple as lifting this bus off the floor where i'm going, i would not need roads in my bus with wings i'd like to go not think too much, there's nothing to fear, much to know won't need a passport, gotta fly so free drive along, I've got a front row seat to countless clouds, the weather's below my-y feet yes i'd go eastward, and westward, and southbound and north visit venice and london, and hong kong and more go to places i never had heard of before just a simple as lifting this bus off the floor

saw a girl by the road had to lighten her load I was going her way slung her life on her back so she threw in her pack and was welcome to stay so the freeway was bare nothing but open air all we had was ourselves we were both of a flock and i liked her a lot we got comfortable this lady hitchhiker was a doll my road trip won't be lonely at all i'll share my light with her, have a ball if she could stay with me, that's her call and there's so much to learn no obligations concerned we had so much free time got to know each other my path could change with her she could alter my life this lady hitchhiker was a doll my road trip won't be lonely at all i'll share my light with her, have a ball if she could stay with me after hours of talk she said this was her stop we went separate ways so I'm back by myself the emotions I felt so tough to convey that lady hitchhiker was a doll but now she's gone, i'm feeling so small it seems so empty here after all cuz she won't stay with me

To Go Home 03:44
There's a hole that grows inside of me now like a tire that burst along this road it's my soul deflating all of my expectations, i got a flat i think it's time to go home out of fuel, my energy depleted all my joy is spent and now i'm dry it's a while before i get to the refueling station, i'm outta gas i think it's time to go home well it seems like people know my name now and they claim that i'm a local hero all i did was take my bus and drove my vehicle's worn out, like my soul at least i got my way home
8.
The Audience 03:06
Something about the audience something about the crowd Something about the way I feel and I got to get you now craving the high publicity craving a lotta fame craving the popularity there's so much I gotta gain you know me by my story how I got out from the grind I'm the mild-mannered bus driver who ventured way off the line wanting to be in interviews wanting to be a name wanting to be a somebody and wanting to stake a claim happy to make to the headlines happy to be well known happy to be in prime time so happy and that's my goal and you recognize my image as the guy who fled the grid and then every time you see my face you know my familiar grin and I stroll right down the carpet at a gala time event as I enter in the paparazzi's flashing, then come in tens

and so it comes to this my fifteen minutes are up and so it comes to this my fifteen minutes are up all my celebrity status went away it's too late and now i'm just singing the blues cuz i'm yesterday's news no longer in the papers i ain't got fame no more no longer in the papers i ain't got fame no more i'm just a regular joe who met the end of his show no longer throwing parades for me, my glamor has faded and now i'm just singing the blues cuz i'm yesterday's news so now i'm all out of options the end of my rope i'm nearly at my conclusion i know there's no hope how else can i continue and go back to what i've been through so now i'm just singing the blues i'm still yesterday's news what else can i do?

Did I tell you the story of Sweeney? Such a sweet woman, age 82 she would bring me a bundle of cookies Piece of candy, or gum I could chew She would thank me for kneeling my bus in took a moment to lift up her foot such an honest and long-living lady and a symbol for all that is good she inherited such a big fortune gave her riches away to the poor so instead she just uses the buses every morning, she goes through my doors Did I tell you the tale of Marcelo? ran for office in fall of last year shook my hand and he said that his father was a hard working driver like me so he catered to all of our wishes cuz he sorely desired the vote but he lost in the polls by a landslide now he rides in the bus with the folks oh he said he would make our lives easier if he garnered a seat in the fall even though he had lost, it was not a waste cuz my bus has a seat after all Did I tell you the tale of a driver Who escaped all the doldrums of life If I hadn't returned to my city would've missed out on finding my light it was there all along in the people who I served every day from the start and to top it all off, met a woman who would go on to fill up my heart if I hadn't come back, I would miss so much I would leave out a piece of my soul it's a life full of passenger stories and together we ride our way home
